Community Closet: Shop Recital’s Heather Cormack
July 26, 2023 — Interviews
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you based, how do you spend your days?
My name is Heather Cormack. I’m a model, turned holistic health coach, who now splits her days between Recital ( a women’s boutique in Denver, CO @shoprecital ) and momming my almost 4 year old daughter, Georgia.
How did you hear about Noihsaf Bazaar / when did you become a part of the community?
Someone tagged me in a post of an incredible Steve Zissou kids T while I was pregnant, which led me to follow every Noihsaf account!
How would you describe your personal style?
Tomboy Chic. I get instant “BDE” when wearing trousers, a boxy button down or a good blazer. Lately I’ve been living in a pair of black pleather pants, a beat up vintage T, and sexy sandals (that I scored of Noihsaf!).
What is your favorite Noihsaf score?
I have a few! Freda Salvador snake print sandals that I wear with EVERYTHING, a pair of The Row slides, and a vintage E.T. shirt for my daughter.
Do you have any style inspirations that you return to?
I always look back at photos of times in my life I’ve felt the best about myself or my most authentic, those outfits seem to exude who I really am inside.
Do you have any designers/brands that you’re especially into these days?
I love Bode and am very excited to see what she has in store for her women's line. The intricacies of Rejina Pyo’s clothing are so beautiful and unique, you can’t help but feel amazing wearing her pieces. Mothfood for all the vintage T’s and I would love to invest in some pieces from The Row.
What trend are you currently loving, or what trend would you like to see?
I remember seeing a picture of Sofia Coppola in the late 90’s wearing Sambas and thinking she was SO cool and really wanting a pair (that I never got), so I love that they’re having a moment. I’m also loving the elevated athletic short/pant trend as well as mesh shoes.
What’s your three favorite pieces currently at Recital?
I am currently obsessed with Rejina Pyo’s Cora Trousers, ALL the Fish Design by Gaetano Pesce Vases, and the Rachel Comey Eno Red Snakeskin Clutch.
What’s one of the best pieces of style advice you’ve received?
Dress for yourself. If you’re dressing authentically, you’ll feel good in your body and that will radiate outward.
Favorite song to play when getting dressed?
My husband ( @southoffrance ) wrote a song about the first time he saw me walking down the street, so that always boosts my confidence when getting ready!
