Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you based? How do you spend your days?

Hello Noihsaf Bazaar Community, I'm Ashley, the shop girl at Birdy. Although I live just outside of Denver, my heart is rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area. Style and design have always been central to my life, and being part of Noihsaf allows me to express my creativity in new and exciting ways.

Birdy functions as an extension of my design studio, Birdy Creative (@birdycreativeco), where I focus on floral design, event styling, and art direction. My career has revolved around creative visual design, blending vintage finds with contemporary elements to showcase my unique style in every project. Besides running my own business, I also freelance for various event design firms, which has provided me with incredible chances to travel across the U.S. and internationally, collaborating with amazing individuals from around the globe. During my travels, I love to explore new cities and search for one-of-a-kind treasures.

Every day presents fresh and thrilling opportunities for me, and I enjoy leading a vibrant and varied life. I keep myself engaged with different activities, including floral design, cooking, gardening and craft projects. I share my home with my partner Derek, who has sparked my passion for vintage mopeds and motorcycles. Though I often redecorate and rearrange, he remains supportive and easygoing as our home evolves with décor, clothing, art and photography. Our family is rounded out by our dogs, Opal and Penny, our cats, Sava and Vee, and our newest pets, African Dwarf Frogs named Walter, Seymore, and Frank.

I offer new and vintage finds ranging from clothing to houseware and everything in between. Things I love that I think you’ll love.

How did you hear about Noihsaf Bazaar / when did you become a part of the community?

I found out about Noihsaf through my incredibly talented friend Jessica from the shop She_Reeds. She has an amazing eye for style and suggested Noihsaf when I expressed my interest in reselling. As someone who has always loved collecting and shopping, it’s been a joy to share my items with a wider audience that might not have discovered them on other platforms. I began my selling journey on Noihsaf in August 2024, and it has truly opened a new chapter for me. I feel like Birdy has found a perfect home here. I take great pride in what I offer, and my passion is reflected in the other sellers within this community. A significant reason I started selling on Noihsaf was due to my preventative double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery last November, which followed genetic testing. I’ve undergone three surgeries, with the latest one just a few weeks ago. While I’m thankful for the opportunity to take these steps, I couldn’t continue my regular job during my recovery. I needed a way to earn an income and stay engaged. Noihsaf has been a fantastic resource, allowing me to follow my passion while also supporting myself.

What is your favorite Noihsaf score?

I just picked up a beautiful silver and turquoise bracelet from LoneCurio, a fantastic seller of one-of-a-kind vintage jewelry, bags, and clothing. It's such a timeless accessory that I can wear every day. I really enjoy making use of my pieces instead of saving them for special moments. The NB community is always creating amazing work, thanks to its enthusiastic members, which keeps the offerings fresh and exciting. I'm grateful to be a part of this committed group.

How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any style inspirations that you return to?

Style and design have always played a crucial role in my life, thanks to the influence of my artistic mother. Growing up in a creative atmosphere, I was constantly introduced to fresh ideas that encouraged me to cultivate my own distinct aesthetic. A few years ago, I made the choice to reduce the number of patterns in my tops and pants, opting to focus more on accessories to streamline my style and wardrobe. I apply the same principle when it comes to decorating my home. My personal style is a blend of comfort and eclectic touches, combining simple outfits with vibrant and bold patterns. I love to elevate casual looks with accessories like bandanas and scarves. I’m particularly drawn to Masculine, Athleisure, and Utility styles, always prioritizing comfort. Additionally, I have a fondness for tomato red; it’s a vibrant color that pairs well with many shades and has become a staple in my everyday wardrobe.

Since discovering the Adidas Original SL 72 sneakers in Italy last year, I've been completely enamored with them. They are both stylish and incredibly comfortable. I’m especially fond of the Ruby and Solar Yellow colorway, but they offer such a variety of fun color combinations. When I do step away from my sneakers, I often pair my outfits with my beloved vintage cream ostrich cowboy boots.

In recent years, jewelry has become a vital aspect of my style; I adore layering necklaces, bracelets, and rings. I enjoy mixing playful, simple pieces, combining thrifted treasures with new finds. A baseball cap, fanny pack, and sunglasses are usually essential accessories for any of my outfits.

Do you have any designers/brands that you’re especially into these days?

I don't really have a specific designer or brand that I consistently follow; I just go for what resonates with me, and that approach has always served me well. I'm always on the lookout for unique and timeless pieces, but I make it a point to check the tags and assess the quality of the items. I aim for distinctive, high-quality pieces that stand the test of time. I also enjoy discovering vintage gems from the 50s, 60s, and 70s that look as if they were just crafted yesterday. The craftsmanship from those decades is truly a craft and has become increasingly rare to find in newer clothing.

What trend are you currently loving, or what trend would you like to see?

Comfy oversized pants are perfect for any occasion. They strike the right balance between being stylish and cozy, which is what I prioritize. Living in Colorado, I've often struggled to find outfits that keep me warm while still looking cute. With these oversized styles, I can easily layer up and stay toasty. Lately, I've been loving a pair of faded green pleated trousers that I had tailored to the ideal ankle length; they go with just about everything.

What I truly admire is personal style. It's inspiring to see how individuals put their own spin on different pieces, providing fresh ideas and motivation for my own wardrobe. I really enjoy witnessing everyone's creativity.

P.S.

I really enjoy connecting and collaborating with new people. I'm super passionate about design, particularly when it comes to florals. If you have a wedding or any design project on the horizon, or if you just want to brainstorm some ideas… let’s team up.
