Hi Allison! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you based? How do you spend your days?
Hello! My name is Allison and I live in Los Angeles. I spend my days working as an art educator, and when I’m not teaching, I love to read, peruse antique shops with my son, eat at yummy food spots with my friends, visit art exhibits, and shop slow fashion!

How did you hear about Noihsaf Bazaar / when did you become a part of the community?
I had to check my email for that answer! It looks like I found NB in early 2016! I have no idea how because I don’t have brain space to remember all of that, haha. But I am so glad I did- it has definitely changed the way I shop and think about fashion.

What is your favorite Noihsaf score?
I have found so many great items on NB. I’d say some of my most treasured pieces are some Kat + Roger pots & a very cool set of wooden candle stick holders I got when NB was still posting on IG.
I have an obsession with strange planters and vases.

How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any style inspirations that you return to?
I’d describe my style as eclectic! One day I’ll be wearing baggy jeans with a vintage tee and the next day I’ll be in a Mr. Larkin dress. I am definitely inspired by some of my friends’ style- in fact, one person whose style I really admire I met from discussing fashion over a NB exchange. This was several years ago and we are still friends today.
Any designers/brands that you’re especially into these days?
A couple of brands that I regularly return to year after year would be Caron Callahan and Mr. Larkin.

What trend are you currently loving, or what trend would you like to see?
Oh, that’s a hard one to answer! I think part of loving fashion is enjoying many trends. Even when I initially “dislike” a trend, I’ll find myself circling back to it after a bit, and being like, “ok! I see how this can work!”

Favorite song to play when getting dressed?
My favorite song to play when doing anything, always, is Spilt Needles by the Shins. Certain music takes me back in time, and when the Shins album, Wincing the Night Away, was released in 2007, I felt young, carefree and had very little responsibility. Youth is fleeting. I don’t think I realized at the time that I wouldn’t be in my 20’s for forever. I play this song at every opportunity to go back to that period in my life, if only for three minutes.
