Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where are you based? How do you spend your days?

I’m currently based in Pasadena, California, where I spend my days with my son, playing with Legos and watching cartoons (Alvin and the Chipmunks, serendipitously one of my childhood favorites, too!).

We also spend a lot of time with our two cats, Bicho and Didion, and searching for Monarch caterpillars among the milkweed and Swallowtail caterpillars in our rue bushes. I’m slowly turning our front garden into a certified butterfly waystation. We have a little butterfly operation on our front porch, with mesh enclosures where we house the caterpillars so they can safely form their chrysalises. Once they eclose, we release them, and they’re off on their next adventure.

How did you hear about Noihsaf Bazaar / when did you become a part of the community?

Back in the day, when Noihsaf was on Instagram, I would set my alarm for the drops. Going through my inbox recently, I came across my old item-sale submissions to Noihsaf for the daily drop. I’m still trying to remember who referred me or whether I found it completely by chance!

When Noihsaf transitioned to the web, it was a no-brainer; I quickly started filling my shop.

What is your favorite Noihsaf score?

A few immediately come to mind: a long linen Rachel Comey jacket, an Isabel Marant reversible bomber jacket, and a pair of vintage patchwork harem pants that I wore to bed, gardening, running errands, pretty much everywhere, until they literally fell apart at the seams.

Do you have any tips or advice for folks interested in selling on Noihsaf?

My criterion is pretty simple: if I haven’t reached for an item of clothing in the past six months, it’s time to sell it.

I think back to the last time I wore it and ask myself: Did I feel comfortable in it? Did I actually reach for it and wear it, or did I put it on and then take it off in favor of something else?

I set aside everything that needs to be sold, donated, or gifted in one section of my closet. Then it’s just a matter of taking the time to photograph, measure, and list everything. My goal is to sell several items a week and keep the momentum going. If you list it, it will sell sooner or later!

How would you describe your personal style? Do you have any style inspirations that you return to?

My style is always evolving. Right now, it’s easy, grab-and-go floral dresses. Any length will do. Fabric is essential to me: cotton, linen, ramie, and, of course, silk. With a young child and grubby hands, though, I tend to opt for whatever is easiest to clean!

I’d love to have more time to get ready in the morning, but most days it’s school drop-off and then off to work. On weekends, my sister and I love visiting the Eastside flea markets and pop-ups, shopping, digging around, and people-watching.

Do you have any designers/brands that you’re especially into these days?

Too many to name!

I’ve been gravitating toward the simplicity of Deiji Studios, their pajama look, cotton and linen shorts and pant sets, baggy pants, polished cotton tops. I also love local LA brand Ozma, Doên floral mini and midi dresses, Babaa wools, everything Monica Cordera, and the silk fabrics from Réalisation Par.

Right now, my wishlist cart is full of Ciao Lucia. I remember when Lucy Akin started her line out of her shop, Shop Super Street, on La Brea. She curated it so beautifully, and I still wear every piece I bought there.

We’re so lucky to have such an incredible array of flea markets and secondhand shops in LA.

What trend are you currently loving, or what trend would you like to see?

I’m really into the Y2K movement right now, silky slips and the unapologetic femininity of Sue Wong, Mandalay, Bebe, Betsey Johnson, and vintage Victoria’s Secret pieces that seem to be flying off the Depop shelves.

I really wish I’d kept all my Contempo!

I’m also loving the Kate Moss and Carolyn Bessette ’90s minimalism, the simplicity, the slip dresses, pencil skirts, effortless cool.

Favorite song to play when getting dressed?

Anything by Metric.
