Alpine 1917 Oil Painting

Pretty old painting of Alpine scenery. I'm guessing it's oil. Has D.W. initials and 1917. Missing hanging wire and there's 0.5" puncture mark on the bottom (see 2nd pic). The original wooden frame has peeled off in different spots, which makes it charming and full of character.
